Hitachi Chemical Electronic Materials (Kyushu), Hitachi Powdered Metals (USA), and Hitachi Chemical Asia (Thailand) have been added to the main production sites from FY2014 and Hitachi Chemical Co., (Taiwan) Ltd. has been excluded from the main production sites from FY2015. From FY2016, Hitachi Chemical Techno Service, Japan Brake Industrial, Ichihara Works of Hitachi AIC, and Hitachi Storage Battery (Dongguan) have been excluded. Yamagishi AIC, Namie Japan Brake, Hitachi Chemical Mexico, Hitachi Chemical (Malaysia), Hitachi Chemical (Selengor), Hitachi Powered Metals (Singapore), Hitachi Powered Metals (Dongguan), PT Hitachi Chemical Indonesia, Foshan J.B. Automotive Products, Hitachi Chemical Automotive Products (Thailand), Hitachi Chemical Electronic Materials (Guangzhou), Hitachi Chemical Electronic Materials (Hong Kong), Hitachi Chemical (Nangtong) have been added in the same fiscal year. (The number of sites and companies have been changed from 32 sites at
14 companies in FY2015 to 43 sites at 24 companies in FY 2017.)

From FY2014, COD and BOD of overseas business sites refer only to wastewater discharged into public waters.

VOC denotes 41 substances selected by Hitachi Group based on Ministry of the Environment guidelines until FY2015. From FY2016, the amount of VOC has been calculated 50 substances selected by Hitachi Group and 27 substances by Hitachi Chemical.

The figures of water usage of FY2015 have been revised due to the data review.

For this year, the conversion factor of 3.6 MJ / kWh was used to calculate the amount equivalent to electricity in the energy
consumption category.
