Environmental Performance

Environmental Accounting

The Hitachi Chemical Group employs an environmental accounting system based on the Japanese Ministry of the Environment’s 2005 Environmental Accounting Guidelines for the Group domestic companies and publishes the results the system yields. We systematically and effectively allocate business resources to environmental initiatives based on the environmental-accounting results for each fiscal year, and work to continuously improve our environmental record by making our environmental investments and activities more efficient. In recent years, we have also deployed this initiative to overseas business sites to obtain the actual values so that we can review them for improvement in the context of effective operation.
Based on our medium- and long-term plans, we continue work to achieve our goal of reducing our global environmental footprint through the means that achieve maximum effectiveness at lower cost.
