Anisotropic Conductive Film (ACF) <ANISOLM>

[Summary]

ACF is a cutting-edge invention of Hitachi Chemical for microscopic circuit connection. Conductive particles distributed in insulating adhesive film connect bumps/electrodes on IC chip/FPC, and electrodes on glass/FPC/PWB. ACF is used widely in the world for flat panel display (FPD) devices; and enables evolution of FPD applications, such as PCs, mobile phones, LCD TVs, moreover various electronic devices.

[Structure]

It is the product which consisted of the thermosetting adhesive film and support film which scattered conductive particles.

[Method of Use]

Typically used as follows in the interconnection of FPC and LCD panel electrodes:
1) Prelaminate the ACF film with support film on the LCD panel electrodes.
2) Remove the support film.
3) Align FPC with LCD panel electrodes and apply pressure for 5-15 seconds at 140-210C°. This allows LCD panel electrodes and FPC to be electrically connected with the help of the conductive particles while preserving the insulation of adjacent electrodes and circuits.
