Manufacturing Methods of Powder Metal Products

Warm Compaction

The method of warm compaction provides increased density without the use of secondary processes. Through warm compaction, cost-effective production is realized since properties by this method provide comparable or exceeding properties than double pressed and double sintered materials.

Rolling Process

This process provides high density on the product surface. Sprockets and gear teeth, under high surface pressure, are the rolling process.

Sinter Forging

Application of this process offers products with mechanical properties equivalent or exceeding to that of wrought steel in areas such as toughness.

Multi-step Compaction

Precisely controlled actions on tooling components provide ideal movement of powders during compaction that results in multi-step design on products. This technology offers "Near-net" shape compacting resulting in the elimination of costly machining processes.

Diffusion Bonding

High complex geometric shapes are possible to produce by compacting portions of a component separately and sintering after the assembly of green compacts. Diffusion bonding technology offers a cost effective alternative by eliminating brazing, welding and machining. Bonding with none P/M materials is also possible to meet the demands of complex functions.

Combination of Technologies

Combination of various technologies such as diffusion bonding, warm compaction, and multi-step compaction, allows the use of a greater combination of materials and mechanical properties. An example is the combination of our P/M products and wrought steel.
